SBPIS’s investigator, Adam Woody, has over 20 years experience in law enforcement, investigations, a certified crash reconstructionist, and a SFST (DUI) instructor.

He was first employed in the criminal justice system in January of 2003 with the Oak Ridge Police Department in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. While employed there Adam attended the Governor’s Highway Safety Office Basic At-Scene Traffic Crash Investigation course on February 6-17, 2006. He then attended the Governor's Highway Safety Office Advanced Traffic Crash Investigation Course on March 13-24, 2006. In January 2007 Adam furthered his law enforcement career by joining the Tennessee Highway Patrol. He attended the Department of Transportation’s National Traffic Incident Management Responder Course on August 9, 2013. He attended the Tennessee Department of Safety’s Commercial Vehicle Post Crash Investigation training on November 3-7, 2014. Adam continued his crash investigation education by attending the Tennessee Department of Safety’s Crash Reconstruction Course in October 12-23, 2015. Adam has over 20 years of crash investigation experience which he continually expanded on his knowledge throughout his career. He retired from the Tennessee Highway Patrol as a Sergeant in July of 2022. From, 2023-2025 Adam was employed by the Garza Law Firm, PLLC as an investigator.

Adam is also a veteran. He served in the Army National Guard from 2000-2007. During his time he was deployed to serve in Operation Iraqi Freedom. While there he was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, Combat Action Badge, and other prestigious awards.
